“There’s a Higher Power: Celebrating the Music of the Louvin Brothers” is a new fun-filled tribute show chronicling the life and times of Ira and Charlie Louvin – two of country music’s finest and most influential harmony singers.
Born into poverty in rural Alabama in the 1920s, the Louvin Brothers began singing as a duet while in their teens, later becoming stars of the Grand Ole Opry in the 1950s and writing songs that have become country classics. Their unique harmonies and songwriting style had a major influence on later artists – from Johnny Cash and the Everly Brothers to Emmylou Harris and Elvis Costello.
“There’s a Higher Power” traces their lives and music, starting from their days as kids toiling on a cotton farm to their years in the national spotlight, writing and performing songs that reached the very top of the country music charts. Along the way, they…
